Hello

I'm Lucille Lawrence, a wedding and portrait photographer living in Mendocino. Things that make me giddy: a good sunset, long dinners outside, small goats, daffodils, margaritas, my husband's laugh and our very charming children.

My photographic approach weaves theatrics into the visual image, celebrating the magic of fleeting moments amplified through nostalgic storytelling. Watching light, anticipating the next vignette, documenting the grand and the quiet- they’re all important gems that breathe life into your narrative. Weddings are tender and ephemeral celebrations, sculpted rituals unfolding with deep emotions and historic bonds. I like to set up just a bit of schmaltz but with the depth of a true believer: making juicy images you can feel, imbued with love and humor. I have a genuine desire to connect with my couples and build a level of trust and friendship to tell your honest story.

I don't take myself too seriously, but I know this is serious business, and I aim to be a calm and loving presence at your wedding. I work with a mix of digital and film cameras, in a documentary style swizzled with elevated fashion and color. I hold a BA in Theatre and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley and most of a masters degree from San Francisco Art Institute. My work has been featured in NY Times, Vogue, Sonoma Magazine, SF Chronicle, and Tiny Atlas Quarterly. I love what I do and I look forward to making golden memories together.
